Our school

The Greek School of Nottingham "Virgin Mary Eleousa", has been serving the Greek community of Nottingham since 1970. It was established by parents-members of the community, and took its name after the Greek Orthodox church of Nottingham. For 25 years chairman of the school committee was George Antippa. During his tenure, the school was recognized by the Department of Education of the City of Nottingham as an official supplementary school.

The School runs two days a week. Children's classes are held on Saturdays from 10am to 2.15pm at the Djanogly Sherwood Academy (Sherwood Rise, New Basford, Nottingham, NG7 7AR). Adult's classes are held on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Greek Orthodox Church community hall (184 Derby Rd, Nottingham, NG7 1NF).
